Our School
Gymnázium Oty Pavla is a small public grammar school that belongs to the type of secondary (high) school which offers a mainly academic education for the 15 to 18-year age group. The applicants for the grammar school are admitted on the basis of their abilities, after taking the entrance exam. The school operates on a semestral system (semester = term, each school year consists of 2 semesters) from grade 1 through graduation, and provides many additional program opportunities.
Our school consists of caring students, staff and parents working closely together to foster academic excellence and ensure high student achievement. More than 90% of our graduating students go on to post secondary education. Our academic program is challenging and is designed to provide our students with a strong academic and technological foundation for their further studies.
History
The building of nowadays grammar school was finished in 1928, the grammar school itself originated in 1953. Our school takes name from a famous Czech writer Ota Pavel. We are proud of it and we feel honoured with it because Ota Pavel was a distinguished Czech personality.
Our students
- Gymnázium Oty Pavla has an enrolment of approximately 240 students. Students come to our school from our community schools and from other areas.

- Gymnázium Oty Pavla has 25 teachers on staff. Dedicated staff members help students to experience growth and discovery while preparing them for their future.

Measures of Student Achievement & Success
- After each semester (a half of each year) all students are assessed on the evaluation tests of Mathematics, Czech language and foreign languages.
- Our students annually place well in local (school), Prague and national maths, science and foreign language competitions.
- More than 90% of our graduates go on to post-secondary opportunities.

- a week stay trip to England and Wales, Great Britain (staying with families in London and Bath, trips to Canterbury, Stonehenge, Winchester, Salisbury, Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Cardiff)
